Feodor Poukhovski-Sheremetyev
Candidature — VP Wellness/VP bien-être
Hi, I’m Feodor – I’m a PGY-3 in psychiatry and one of your current Non-Designated Specialty reps in the ARM. I’m applying for Vice-President Wellness because I believe resident wellness must extend beyond self-care and instead should be embedded in the culture of our training.
My experience in psychiatry and on the ARM Board of Representatives has shown me that wellbeing isn’t just about individual coping strategies, but also about the environments in which we work. Resident wellness requires attention to the realities of our training: respect for our post-call days, adherence to the FMRQ collective agreement, and the normalization of rest without stigma or guilt. It requires advocacy and communication aimed towards our administrators and supervisors, so that your wellness is not framed as an individual obligation but as a shared institutional responsibility.
If elected, I will continue organizing and growing wellness events such as the FMRQ Resident Day and the ARM spa days. But I will also work to expand the focus of wellness advocacy towards what happens to you on the job. I will make sure that you know your collective rights to wellness through clear documentation and presentations. I will work with the Union Affairs committee to advocate for your rights if they’re not respected. And I will bolster initiatives like the Sentinel Residents to keep training programs accountable to your wellbeing.
My goal would be to ensure that wellness is more than something residents are encouraged to opt into during scheduled events. It’s something reflected consistently in how we work, rest, and are supported throughout residency.
Thank you for your consideration!
