Board of Executives
President
DR HEITHEM JOOBER:
Heithem is currently training in Geriatric Psychiatry at McGill University. He earned an MD and a postgraduate diploma (DESS) in Psychiatry from the University of Sherbrooke. As President of the Association of Residents of McGill (ARM), he will be representing the ARM on the FMRQ Board for 2024-2025. In 2023-2024, he was FMRQ Secretary-Treasurer, having sat, previously, on the Federation’s Union Affairs Committee (CAS) from July 2021 to June 2023. In 2020-2021, he was also Psychiatry residents’ representative on the Association des médecins résidents de Sherbrooke (AMReS). Heithem is looking forward to working with the Board of Delegates and the Board of Representatives to promote the well being of Residents.
VP Internal Affairs
DR LIANG CHEN:
Liang is a fifth-year Critical Care Medicine and General Internal Medicine resident who will serve to manage ARM communications with the resident body and run ARM elections. He has interests in medical education and resident advocacy, and has had past roles as the Chief Medical Resident of Internal Medicine and Executive President of the Medical Student Society of McGill University.

DR VICTOR KANG:
My name is Victor, and I am a third-year resident in CCFP-EM program. I will be the VP Finance this year and it’s a role I am quite used to! Fun fact, I was the MSS VP Finance for four years! I look forward to meeting many of you during our ARM events and helping you fund your special projects.

DR KAELAN GOBEIL ODAI:
Kaelan is a PGY-3 the emergency medicine specialist training program. He completed both his BSc. and medical degree at the University of Ottawa. His passion for advocacy stems from deep francophone roots as a Franco-Manitoban and have translated to his colleagues in the medical field. He is thrilled to be representing McGill residents as the VP Union Affairs for the 2024-2025 term. He serves as the main liaison for all residents at McGill pertaining to the collective agreement, and is looking forward to support any resident in their endeavour to advocate for their rights.

(Comité des Affaires pédagogiques) – Specialties
DR RAMI HABIB:
Rami Habib is an Internal Medicine resident (Class of '25) who has been serving in the Pedagogical Affairs (Specialties) portfolio since 2023. He has a particular interest in residency accreditation, competency based medical education, and protecting student rights in matters of promotion and disciplinary challenges. Additionally, he sits on committees related to specialties academic affairs at the FMRQ, the Royal College, and the CMQ.

(Comité des Affaires pédagogiques) – Family Medicine
DR ANGIE SALOMAN:
Angie is an R2 in family medicine at the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex. She completed her medical degree at Queen's University in Kingston, and before that a Master's of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Despite her roots, she is thrilled to be at Mcgill and hopes to continue to work in the Quebec primary care system for the foreseeable future. Angie will be serving as the VP CAP for Family Medicine for the 2024–2025 academic year. In this role, she will represent the interests of residents at FPGEC and FMRQ meetings. She also hopes to build strong ties with medical student interest groups focused on improving primary care in Quebec and Canada. VP Wellness
DR SAMANTHA LEIBGOTT:
Samantha is a second year Family Medicine resident at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She completed her medical degree at Université de Montréal (UdeM) after earning her BSc and MSc(A) in Occupational Therapy at McGill University. Samantha has always had a fierce passion for her own personal wellness and that of those around her. She strives to bring joy and fun to the stressful moments endured throughout residency. Her role will entail organizing the Resident Wellness day as well as a variety of other sustainable initiatives to promote wellbeing across residents in all programs. She will also be sitting on the Comité du bien-être des résident.e.s (CBER) and co-chair the Committee of Residents Wellness (CreW). Stay tuned for some fun events and free coffee at a hospital near you this academic year!
VP Events
DR BENSON WAN:
Benson is an R2 in Radiation Oncology, and will be the VP Events for this upcoming year. He will be in charge of organizing the society's social events, and other projects such as the clothing sale and the Special Projects Fund.
VP CPEM (Comité de planification des effectifs médicaux)
DR PHILIPPE CADIEUX:
Dr. Philippe Cadieux is a PGY-4 in Diagnostic Radiology and will serve his third term as VP CPEM for the academic year 2024-2025. In his role, he will represent residents’ interests at the FMRQ CPEM committee and will be your point of reference for PEMs in specialties and fellowships in the province of Quebec.
