Cedric Kafie

Candidature — VP Finance (Treasurer)/VP finances (trésorier·ère)

My name is Cedric and I’m a first-year resident in family medicine. Over the past year, I have served on ARM’s Governance Subcommittee, which has given me a deeper appreciation of the work ARM does to advocate for residents and support initiatives in wellness, education, and community building. This experience has motivated me to take on a larger role in helping continue the organization’s important work.

I am interested in the VP finance role because I believe that good finances are essential to turning residents’ ideas into meaningful programs and events. As VP Finance, I would help ensure that membership dues are managed responsibly, transparently, and in a way that maximizes their benefit to hard working residents. I would also work to make financial information accessible and understandable, so members can clearly see how ARM’s resources are being used.

Prior to medicine, I worked as a Senior Consultant at major engineering firm where I developed strong skills in budgeting, cost reporting, financial analysis, and project management. I have also managed budgets in previous leadership roles, including administering large budgets for diversity focused employee networks and McGill design teams.

If elected by you, I would focus on maintaining clear financial reporting and supporting the executive team in evaluating new initiatives and allocating resources strategically. I would be excited to contribute my analytical and organizational skills to help ARM continue funding important events and projects.

Thank you for your consideration
