Sabrina Bergeron

Candidature — VP Pedagogical Affairs, Specialties/

VP CAP-S (affaires pédagogiques, spécialités)

Dear colleagues,

With a continued commitment to medical education and the experience gained over the past year, I am eager to run again for the position of VP Pedagogical Affairs – Specialty.

My first year in this role has been highly formative. I have gained a strong understanding of PGME’s inner workings and the committees through which the ARM advocates for residents’ rights. During my current mandate, I have built relationships grounded in trust and transparency, allowing me to address difficult issues and effectively represent residents’ interests.

Beyond McGill, the VP Pedagogical Affairs collaborates closely with the FMRQ and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This past year, I served as a voting member at FMRQ and two Royal College committees.

Concretely, I have supported the promotion of the updated CBD framework with intent to improve flexibility and resident satisfaction with evaluation modalities. I have also contributed to revisions of the accreditation standards for residency programs across Canada.

My top priority within McGill is to remain accessible and supportive in addressing academic concerns. As your representative, I strive to be responsive, practical, and respectful of confidentiality.

The year 2027 will be marked by the renewal of accreditation for all residency programs at McGill. My prior experience, combined with my role on the Royal College’s accreditation committee, positions me to contribute meaningfully during this important process.

For transparency, I would also like to share that, if re-elected, I will be on maternity leave for part of my mandate. Although I will not be working clinically during this period, I will remain available, engaged, and responsive. I have a strong support network in place to ensure my ability to fulfill my mandate.

Thank you for your trust—I look forward to continuing to work with you.
