Morgan Gold

Candidature — Surgery Representative

Hi,

My name is Morgan Gold. I am starting my fourth year of vascular surgery, and I am applying to return as a surgical representative for the ARM to continue representing and advocating for surgical residents this upcoming year.

Having been a delegate on the ARM for the past three years, I have developed the experience and skills necessary to be a strong representative for my colleagues. In medical school, I held various executive positions in several clubs and served as class representative. This involved acting as a liaison between my fellow classmates, student council, and the faculty of medicine. My experiences from medical school and my role as ARM representative have prepared me to continue effectively representing my fellow residents. Last year, as the FMRQ negotiations came to aclose, I not only brought perspectives from surgical residents to the table but also helped communicate important updates and developments about the negotiations to my colleagues. With the new collective agreement now in effect, attention can shift toward other important issues, including the new PEAP schedule and resident wellness.

As a returning representative, I hope to continue ensuring that the perspectives of surgical residents are heard and considered in discussions affecting their training, well-being, and working conditions. I am committed to being an approachable and accessible resource for residents, actively seeking feedback and ensuring concerns are brought forward in a constructive and effective manner.

I look forward to continuing to serve as a liaison between residents and the ARM by communicating residents' concerns, sharing important updates, and advocating for improvements that support a positive and equitable training environment.

Thank you for your consideration,

Morgan Gold
