Candidature — Representative: Medical Specialties and Subspecialties

Dear colleagues,

My name is Noushin, and I am a fourth-year pediatric resident. I am applying again as an ARM Resident Representative for Medicine, Pediatrics and Subspecialties after having had the opportunity to serve as a delegate last year.

Through this experience, I became more familiar with the role of ARM, the importance of resident representation, and the value of clear communication between residents and the Board. I would be pleased to continue contributing and representing the concerns and priorities of residents in our category.

I also served as Chief Resident within the Pediatrics program, where I gained experience listening to residents, communicating with program leadership, and advocating for fair and practical solutions. This role reinforced for me how important it is for residents to feel heard, supported, and comfortable raising concerns.

I strongly value the consistent application and respect of the FMRQ agreement across all programs and training sites. Residents should be aware of their rights, and these rights should be respected by everyone involved in residency training. When concerns arise, I believe they should be addressed in a clear, constructive, and collaborative manner.

If elected, I would continue to be an accessible and reliable representative, bring forward residents’ concerns and suggestions, communicate important updates, and participate actively in ARM meetings and committees.

I would be honoured to represent Medicine, Pediatrics and Subspecialties again and to continue supporting fair working conditions, resident well-being, clear communication, and a respectful training environment.

Kindly,

Noushin Roofigari
