Candidature — Family Medicine Representative Delegate St. Mary’s Hospital

Hi everyone,

My name is Jenny Wang, and I am a PGY2 Family Medicine resident based at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Throughout medical school and residency, I have remained actively involved in advancing family medicine within our faculty and beyond. As president of McGill’s Family Medicine Student Interest Group and representative on family medicine valorization committees, I worked to promote the specialty and advocate for learner perspectives for many years.

As McGill’s CFPC Section of Residents delegate, a role I began last year and will continue in the upcoming year, I have engaged with issues affecting family medicine residents at the national level and brought those perspectives back to our program. Locally, I have remained involved through participation in McGill Family Medicine PGEC meetings and as a member of the ARM Pedagogical Affairs Committee, which has kept me closely connected to both educational and resident affairs. This continuity across national and local governance has strengthened my understanding of the challenges facing family medicine trainees across our training sites and my ability to bridge discussions between residents and program leadership.

As resident delegate, I would advocate for high-quality training, academic transparency, resident wellness and clear communication between residents and the program. I would continue to be an accessible point of contact and ensure resident concerns are brought forward effectively.
