Jack Lam

Candidature — Chief Residents/résidents-coordonnateurs

Montreal Neurological Institute

Dear colleagues,

My name is Jack Lam (R5 Neurosurgery) and I am pleased to run again for Chief Resident of the Montreal Neurological Hospital.

Serving as Chief Resident in the past years has given me deep insight into the challenges facing residents at the MNH. It is a privilege meeting with many of you to discuss the issues impacting our day-to-day work-life.

At the MNH, I’ve been busy advocating at the level of the MUHC administration and PGME on issues such as dedicated on call parking spaces, improving resident lounge infrastructure, updating call room furniture, changing the lounge room lock, and navigating the change in on call meals. Many of these issues take time and are ongoing discussions with admin, so I appreciate your patience and support as we move forward together.

I understand residency itself is difficult enough without the constant barrage of bureaucracy and red-tape that we are all too familiar with at McGill. I am grateful for the trust that residents have placed in me as Chief Resident the past year and I hope to continue my work to ensure that the facilities at the MNH are adequate and accessible and that the Neuro is a place of collegiality, respect, and inclusivity.

With gratitude,

Jack Lam
