Paul Phan

VP, CAP-FM (Pedagogical affairs, family medicine)—V.-p., CAP-MF (affaires pédagogiques, médecine familiale)

Dear colleagues,

I am excited to express my interest in the position of VP CAP – Family Medicine, driven by a deep commitment to advancing the educational experience of our residents.

As a soon-to-be senior delegate of the CFPC’s Section of Residents, I’ve been actively engaged in conversations that shape post-graduate education at both the institutional and national levels. My involvement has provided me with a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Family Medicine education. Over the past year, I’ve had the chance to sit at multiple meetings alongside our current VP CAP-FM, Angie Salomon. These experiences gave me direct insight into the responsibilities of the role and affirmed my readiness to take it on with confidence and purpose.

My leadership journey spans local, provincial, and international settings. From coordinating IFMSA committees and representing Quebec at a Pan-American meeting, to serving as a CMA Ambassador, I bring an organized, pragmatic, and collaborative approach to advocacy. Each role has sharpened my ability to represent and support others effectively. I value communication, accountability, and a hands-on approach. I will strive to be a visible and reliable voice for you.

Je suis également à l’aise de vous représenter en français, avec ouverture et engagement.

Thank you for your trust and consideration—I would be honoured to represent you.

Warm regards,

Paul Phan
